Mendoza is the capital of Mendoza Province of Argentina. It lies at the foot of the Andes and is closer to Santiago, Chile than it is to Buenos Aires. It is a well laid-out city, with parks and tree-lined streets. Mendoza is also prime wine country and an all-seasons destination for climbers, hikers, skiers, rafters, bikers, paragliders, naturalists, trekkers, and oenophiles alike. There are several wine regions in Mendoza that you can visit:
1) Chacras de Coria is nestled in Luján de Cuyo, close to Mendoza, and is a ‘must-visit’ destination. It is admired for its microclimate, the characteristics of its dwellers and for having succeeded in maintaining a quiet lifestyle that is well in-touch with nature.
2) Lujan de Cuyo is Malbec country. With spectacular views of the mountains, the crystal-clear waters of its creeks and its plentiful rivers, in addition to an ample sky and horizon, Lujan de Cuyo can’t help but capture the hearts of its visitors. Its simple population and natural grandness add to the charm of this quaint yet hard-working town.
3) Valle de Uco is the productive heart of a shire devoted to premium winemaking. Its plentiful sunshine makes driving along its roads a pleasure, and these serene journeys are what make it a destination to visit when travelling to Mendoza.
